This highly automated hardwood pellet fuel plant underwent a major capital ($6 million) improvement project a few years ago. It now operates an automated Phelps truck dumper that can deliver 50+ ton or more / hr of feed stock to twin concrete silos. The mill operates two 32LM Andritz Sprout pelletizers and has a fully automated Hamer bag line. This operation’s feedstock comes from a combination of suppliers including Hamer’s own sawmills utilizing green and dry dust along with the ability to utilize chips when necessary. This pellet operation’s production capacity is in excess of 60,000 tons annually and caters to the residential fuel market and BBQ markets respectively.
Dry Kilns
Approx. 300M’ drying capacity which includes one conventional type kiln with all others being track type kilns. Currently this operation is not operating but Hamer plans to reopen this operation to accommodate the increased sawmill production in the near future.
This operation focuses primarily on transporting inter- company product including lumber, logs, chips, sawdust, pellets, etc. by way of tractor trailer units and a fleet of trailers.
