Hardwoods is the baseline for many industries, and developing a solid foundation is critical to ensure you achieve the best finished product. The Hamer family has been dealing in hardwoods for five generations. Over the years, we’ve stuck to the same values – practicing excellent customer service and delivering hardwoods that exceeds our clients’ expectations. We don’t just want to be your supplier – we want to be your partner.

Hamer’s timber procurement comes from one of the most thriving hardwood forests in the world. Hamer owns and sustainably manages timberland, 5 hardwood sawmills, and 3 kiln drying locations throughout West Virginia and Kentucky. Our annual production capacity is 50 million board feet and our kiln drying capacity is over 20 million board feet annually.
It’s important that we are able to sell a range of hardwoods that can accommodate many industries without compromising on quality. Our lumber is precision double end trimmed and sold green or kiln dried. The lumber is properly kiln dried and stress relieved (suitable for resawing). We grade our lumber before and after kiln drying to assure quality standards for our customers. National Hardwood Lumber Association (NHLA) and other grades are available.
Not only do we sell hardwoods to customers, we work with companies across many industries that need a variety of wood products. We sell our bark to mulch manufacturers and wood chips to paper plants. Our sawdust goes back to Hamer Pellet Fuel Co., another business owned and operated by the Hamer family, to make hardwood pellets.
